Dear Parents/Guardians:
The CCMS PTO would like to welcome all of our new and returning students as well as their Parents/Guardians to the 2009-2010 school year. As always, we are anticipating a fun and productive year at CCMS. We look forward to providing motivational/educational assemblies, recreation nights/parties for each grade level for our children to enjoy a supervised night out, Little Theatre Musical Production, “The King and I”, teacher grants to enrich the classrooms as well as the school, field days for each grade level, the second annual “Cornwall’s Got Talent” as well as hosting the 8th grade Moving Up Reception.
The lifeblood of our organization comes from you, the parents and guardians of our students. It all begins with your $10.00 family membership that is tax-deductible (for Federal and New York State income taxes) as a charitable contribution because of our 501(c)(3) status. Please know that whatever contribution you can make is always appreciated by the students, faculty, administrators and the PTO. You can join a committee, bake for an event and/or chaperone a grade recreation night. Your time and talent is always needed and greatly appreciated. Please join us for our monthly meetings and be a voice in our organization.
As you know, fundraising is necessary to be able to support all of the PTO’s plans. Our fundraising events, such as our talent show and rec/grade party nites, in addition to the sale of our custom made Cornwall Dragon Book Sox plus new items of Cornwall Dragon Spirit wear AND Dragon Coffee help us reach our goals! In addition, please continue sending in the box tops for the Box Tops for Education program. A container is placed at the top of the main stairwell. These 10 cents box tops add up quickly and you don’t have to buy anything you don’t need or use. Don’t forget to save your Hannafords sales slips and use your Price Chopper Card to help us earn products for our school.
In the past, our fundraising efforts have enabled us to purchase a beautiful new entrance rug with the school name & logo, Smart Boards, a color printer and drying rack for the art department, educational tools for the math department, technology for the special education department, sewing machines, mixers and food processors for Home & Careers, musical instruments for the music department, classroom wall maps, LCD projectors and books for the library, a portable sound system for the auditorium along with providing the funding for worthwhile assemblies and more.

Please give us your e-mail address so we can help keep you up to date with what is going on in the PTO. Join us for our first PTO meeting on Thursday September 10, at 8:45 AM in the MS cafeteria. Come and see what we are about and where your special talents fit in. Catch up with some old friends and make some new friends too. I look forward to seeing you all.
